Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup minced jalapeno (more or less to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 tablespoon minced cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly spray an 8×8-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray to ensure the dip doesn’t stick and for easy serving.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, salsa, minced jalapeno, ground cumin, shredded chicken, and both grated cheeses. Stir well until all ingredients are fully blended and combined evenly.
  3. Bake the Dip: Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Place it in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the dip is heated through.
  4. Garnish: Remove the dip from the oven and sprinkle the top with fresh minced cilantro to add a vibrant, fresh flavor and bright color.
  5. Serve: Serve the spicy chicken dip warm alongside crackers, slices of bread, or raw vegetables for dipping. Enjoy as a perfect party appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of jalapeno to control the spiciness of the dip according to your taste preference.
  • For a milder version, remove the seeds from jalapenos before mincing.
  • Leftover dip can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
  • This dip can also be prepared in advance and baked just before serving to save time.
  • If Monterey Jack cheese is unavailable, you can substitute with mozzarella or another mild melting cheese.
