Slider Ingredients
- 24 Kings Hawaiian Rolls (2 12-pack packages)
- 24 meatballs (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Garlic Herb Butter
- 1/4 cup butter (softened)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic paste
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375˚F to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Make Garlic Butter: In a bowl, combine softened butter, chopped fresh parsley, dried basil, dried thyme, kosher salt, garlic paste, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Prepare Rolls: Arrange the Kings Hawaiian rolls snugly in a 9×13 inch baking pan. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut out the center of each roll to create a hole for the filling. Brush the tops and inside edges of the holes evenly with the garlic butter mixture. Bake the rolls for 6-8 minutes to toast them lightly and melt the butter, then remove from the oven.
- Assemble Sliders: Mix mozzarella and parmesan cheese together. Spoon half of the cheese mixture into each roll hole. Place a meatball on top of the cheese, then add a dollop of marinara sauce over each meatball. Sprinkle the remaining cheese mixture evenly over the tops of all the sliders.
- Bake Sliders: Return the assembled sliders to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and serve warm.
Notes
- You can use store-bought or homemade meatballs depending on preference.
- For extra spice, increase the amount of red pepper flakes in the garlic butter.
- Make sure rolls are arranged tightly in the pan to prevent them from sliding apart while baking.
- These sliders are perfect for parties and can be served with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
- Leftover sliders can be reheated in the oven wrapped in foil at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
