Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 24 Kings Hawaiian Rolls (2 12-pack packages)
  • 24 meatballs (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Garlic Herb Butter

  • 1/4 cup butter (softened)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375˚F to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Make Garlic Butter: In a bowl, combine softened butter, chopped fresh parsley, dried basil, dried thyme, kosher salt, garlic paste, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Prepare Rolls: Arrange the Kings Hawaiian rolls snugly in a 9×13 inch baking pan. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut out the center of each roll to create a hole for the filling. Brush the tops and inside edges of the holes evenly with the garlic butter mixture. Bake the rolls for 6-8 minutes to toast them lightly and melt the butter, then remove from the oven.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Mix mozzarella and parmesan cheese together. Spoon half of the cheese mixture into each roll hole. Place a meatball on top of the cheese, then add a dollop of marinara sauce over each meatball. Sprinkle the remaining cheese mixture evenly over the tops of all the sliders.
  5. Bake Sliders: Return the assembled sliders to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought or homemade meatballs depending on preference.
  • For extra spice, increase the amount of red pepper flakes in the garlic butter.
  • Make sure rolls are arranged tightly in the pan to prevent them from sliding apart while baking.
  • These sliders are perfect for parties and can be served with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
  • Leftover sliders can be reheated in the oven wrapped in foil at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
