Ingredients

Scale

For the Jello Mixture

  • ½ cup boiling water
  • 1 (85 g) package berry blue flavored jello
  • ⅔ cup ice water (made by adding ½ cup ice cubes and filling with cold water)

For the Topping

  • 2 ½ cups whipped topping, divided

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the Jello: Boil ½ cup of water. Pour the boiling water into a bowl containing the 1 (85 g) package of berry blue jello. Whisk for about 1-2 minutes until the jello powder is completely dissolved. Remove from heat.
  2. Prepare Ice Water and Combine: In a ⅔ cup measuring cup, add ½ cup of ice cubes and fill the rest with cold water. Pour this ice water gradually into the dissolved jello mixture while whisking continuously to combine thoroughly and cool the jello mixture.
  3. Add Whipped Topping: Whisk 1 ½ cups of the whipped topping into the cooled jello mixture until smooth and uniform. Pour this mixture into a bowl and refrigerate for 1 ½ hours to allow it to set to a mousse-like consistency.
  4. Fold in Remaining Whipped Topping: After setting, gently break up the chilled jello mousse with a whisk until smooth. Carefully fold in the remaining ½ cup of whipped topping to maintain the fluffy texture.
  5. Assemble the Dessert: Transfer the mousse mixture into a piping bag. Pipe the jello mousse one-third of the way up individual small glasses. Using the remaining whipped topping, add small dollops around the inside edge of the glass. Repeat the layering process twice more, always ending with a layer of jello mousse on top.
  6. Finish and Serve: Add a final dollop of whipped topping on top of each glass. Serve chilled and enjoy this light, airy, and beautifully layered jello cloud mousse dessert.

Notes

  • For best results, use a piping bag to create neat layers and a professional presentation.
  • The mousse consistency is achieved after refrigeration; do not skip the chilling time.
  • You can substitute whipped topping with homemade whipped cream for a fresher taste.
  • Try other jello flavors for variety, adjusting the flavor profile and color.
  • Serve immediately after assembling for the best texture, as the whipped topping may soften over time.
