Ingredients

Scale

For the Cocktail

  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Orange Liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1 oz Lime Juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 810 Fresh Blackberries
  • 1 oz Coconut Cream
  • Ice (as needed)

For Garnish

  • 1 Lime Wedge
  • 1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
  • Remaining blackberries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Muddle Blackberries and Lime Juice: Add 5-6 fresh blackberries and freshly squeezed lime juice to a cocktail shaker. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to mash the blackberries thoroughly, releasing their juice and flavor.
  2. Add Liquids and Ice: Pour in the tequila, orange liqueur, and coconut cream into the shaker. Then add enough ice to fill the shaker about halfway.
  3. Shake the Cocktail: Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for at least 20 seconds to mix and chill the ingredients well.
  4. Prepare the Glass Rim: Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your cocktail glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into granulated sugar until evenly coated for a sweet, decorative finish.
  5. Fill Glass with Ice: Add ice cubes to the prepared cocktail glass to keep the drink chilled without diluting too quickly.
  6. Strain Cocktail into Glass: Using a strainer, pour the shaken mixture from the cocktail shaker into the glass over the ice, keeping the muddled blackberry solids in the shaker.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Garnish the drink with the remaining blackberries to add an appealing look and a touch of fresh fruit flavor. Serve immediately.
  8. Enjoy: Sip and savor your Blackberries and Cream Margarita, perfect for warm days or festive evenings.

Notes

  • Use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best flavor and brightness.
  • The coconut cream adds a creamy texture and subtle tropical sweetness that complements the blackberries and tequila.
  • Adjust the sugar on the rim to your taste or substitute with salt for a traditional margarita twist.
  • For a stronger berry flavor, muddle all blackberries, or blend for a smoother texture.
  • To make it a frozen cocktail, blend all ingredients with crushed ice until smooth.
