Ingredients

Scale

Slider Buns and Toppings

  • 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or other slider buns)
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 9 slices American cheese
  • 2430 dill pickle slices
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Slider Mixture

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped white onion

Big Mac Sauce

  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 9×13 inch baking dish or sheet pan with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Make the Big Mac Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, sugar, yellow mustard, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly until well blended and set aside for flavors to meld.
  3. Cook the Beef Mixture: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, finely chopped onions, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring and breaking apart the meat, until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are soft. Drain excess grease from the skillet.
  4. Assemble Bottom Layer: Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in the prepared baking dish. Spread a thin layer of the Big Mac sauce evenly on each bottom bun piece.
  5. Add Beef and Cheese: Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef and onion mixture over the sauce-covered buns. Top the beef with slices of American cheese, covering as evenly as possible.
  6. Add Pickles: Place the dill pickle slices on top of the cheese layer, spacing them so that each slider gets several pickle slices.
  7. Bake First Stage: Place the assembled sliders in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and the beef to heat through.
  8. Add Lettuce and Top Buns: Remove the sliders from the oven. Sprinkle shredded lettuce evenly over each slider. Optionally, spread the remaining Big Mac sauce on the underside of the top buns and place the tops over the lettuce.
  9. Prepare Buns for Final Bake: Melt the butter in a small bowl. Brush the melted butter over the tops of the slider buns and sprinkle sesame seeds evenly on top.
  10. Bake Final Stage: Cover the sliders loosely with foil and bake for an additional 3-4 minutes to warm through the completed sliders and toast the buns slightly.
  11. Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and enjoy the sliders while warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute regular slider buns if Hawaiian rolls are not available, but Hawaiian buns add a slightly sweet flavor.
  • Make sure to drain the cooked ground beef well to avoid soggy sliders.
  • For an extra punch, add a dash of ketchup or mustard to the Big Mac sauce to tweak the flavor to your liking.
  • These sliders can be assembled ahead and baked just before serving for convenience.
  • Leftover sliders can be refrigerated and reheated in a toaster oven or microwave.
